The valley of Kathmandu is
extremely rich concerning its monuments, Hindu and
Buddhist temples, we suggest two types of guided visits
to discover these locations; one is of six days and the
other of eight days.
You may also take one or several of these days. Tell us
what you would prefer to visit or let us advise you. We
shall organize a personalized visit.
Kathmandu
Valley in 6 days .
Day 1:
Arrival in Kathmandu , transfer to the Manaslu hotel.
Visit of the Durbar square.
Day 2:
Transfer to Patan.
Visit of the ‘thousand golden roofs’ , the royal palace,
the templ of a thousand Lord Buddhas and the Golden
Temple. Walk in the blacksmith area.
Transfer to Pashupatinath where take place the
cremations by the Bagmati river.
Transfer to Bodnath. Towards the end of the evening all
the Budhists walk around the stupa murmuring their
prayers as they turn the prayer wheels. Visit of the
monasteries as the monks recite their ceremony. Back to
the Hotel Manaslu.
Day 3:
Transfer to the airport early in the morning to do a
mountain flight over the Mt Everest. Transfer to
Bhaktapur, Newari city that remains one of the most
independant cities of the valley ( agriculture,
craftwork, potters..). Visit of its Durbar Square.
Beautiful statue of the Godess named Durga and of
Bhairav.
The Golden Gate ; a Nepali masterpiece, gives access to
the Sundari Chok which encloses the King’s ritual pool
guarded by a big Naag ( snake) made of bronze.
Out of the Durbar Square you can see the Nyatapola,
beautiful pagoda made of 5 storeys, made for the Godess
Laxmi. Walk in the lanes of Bhaktapur, where one can
feel transported back to the midieval times , till you
reach the potters area.
Transfer to Nagarkot. Night at the hotel Vajra Farm
House.
Sunset and sunrise on the Himalayas.
Day 4:
Transfer to Panauti.
Visit of the temples named Indreshkwatr Mahadev and
Narayan, beautiful Newari woodwork on these temples.
Downhill towards the banks of the Pungmati river where
towards the temples of Vishnu and Bramayani lives a
Mohani Sadhu.
Back to Kathmandu. On the way visit of Thimi , a Newari
potters village.
Hotel Manaslu.
Day 5:
Transfer to Kirtipur.
Kirtipur was the last Malla Kingdom before it all fell
in the hands of the Ghurka prince. This
town was named the ‘ city of cut noses’ after the gurkha
soldiers cut the nose to any Malla
resistants. We can find ruins of fortresses. The pagodas
of the 17th century are those of Bagh
Bhairav ( Shiva represented as a Tigre). The stupa of
Chipandu Vira crowns the southern hill.
Transfer to Swayambunath. It is one of the most ancient
religious sites of the valley both . Hindu and Buddhist.
The legend says that Kathmandu was a lake from where
only a small flame came out of a Lotus flower. The saint
named Manjusri wanted to honour this flame, he saw the
image of Lord Buddha and the hill of Chobar were cut in
half to let the water flow away. Men settled in the
valley. A king later on built a stupa on this burning
flame, devotees turn around Swayambunath in a clockwise
direction as they turn the prayer wheels they are
turning the wheel of life .
In the afternoon you shall assist to a puja ( religious
ceremony) in a monastery.
Transfer to Kathmandu. Hotel Manaslu.
Day 6:
Transfer to airport and departure.

to the Hotel Bahari. Boat ride on the Phewa and Begnas

Day 6:
Early in the morning you shall leave by car to go to
Sarangkot, sunrise on the Himalayas. Back to Pokhara.
Transfer to the airport where you shall take the
afternoon flight to Kathmandu.

Our prices

nights in a double room with breakfast at the Manaslu (
other hotel choices are possible) , transportation by
bus to the visits with a english speaking guide, flight
over the Himalayas , night at the Manla Resort at
Nagarkot for a double bed room and breakfast , night in
Pokhara at the hotel double room with breakfast, the
transportation .
